LOCATION
Granny Polly’s is outside Godolphin Cross, a small village which is part of the Godolphin Estate. The area is a World Heritage Site due to its history of mining for tin, copper and china clay as well as its outstanding beauty. Quiet and idyllic countryside, Granny Polly's Cottage is only a ten-minute drive to the nearest beach at Praa Sands. A little further on is Marazion with its fabulous beach overlooking the famous St Michaels Mount and a bit further west is Penzance. Travelling east, Porthleven is a few miles away and fast becoming a go-to destination with an attractive harbour and many great restaurants. Try Amelie’s on the harbour as they do a great Sunday lunch with live Jazz and it’s one of my favourites.
Praa Sands, with a mile of golden sand, offers great surfing and a laid-back beach bar from where you can watch the surfers as the sun comes down. Further west and only a short drive away are St Ives, Mousehole and Sennen, all in easy reach.
For walkers there is plenty on your doorstep and you are surrounded by stunning countryside. A trip up Tregonning Hill is a must from where you get an amazing 360-degree vista across the fields to the coast with Mousehole, Penzance and St Michael's Mount in the distance, or walk the other way up to Godolphin Hill and around National Trust fields and onto the Godolphin Estate.
LIVING
Walking in through the utility room and lobby, (a perfect spot for changing muddy boots) you enter the large open plan living and dining room which overlooks the garden. It’s a lovely room to relax in with a comfy three-seater sofa and a rocking chair. Perfect for cosy evenings in, the open fire is a real feature of this lovely room. For entertainment, there is a large flat screen TV with Freeview and a DVD player. The other end of the living room is the dining area with seating for four overlooking the private garden.
COOKING & EATING
The dining area has comfortable seating for four with an extendable table and chairs. The stunning kitchen off the lobby overlooks the entrance and has everything you need to cook up a feast and more. There is an electric oven together with a ceramic hob, fridge with a freezer compartment, microwave oven and dishwasher.
SLEEPING
The bedrooms overlook the pretty gardens and are both spacious with pocket sprung mattresses, wardrobes and each with a chest of drawers and bedside tables.
MAIN BEDROOM: super king size bed which can be split into two large singles, just let us know.
SECOND BEDROOM: king size bed.
BATHING
The luxury shower room offers far reaching views and has a large walk-in shower, perfect for after a day’s activities. Towels and bedding are provided for you, just remember to bring your own beach towels.
OUTSIDE
At the rear of the cottage is a fully enclosed private garden which can be accessed by a side gate, or from the living room. The pretty lawned area is a good size with a patio area for al-fresco meals and in spring you will see a profusion of flowers and plants as they come into bloom.
UTILITY ROOM
Entering through the front door you come into a fitted utility room housing a dishwasher and washing machine as well as having plenty of space for coats and boots.

The cottage is really well kept with amazing big beds and plenty of space to unwind. Communication was excellent and Sarah was very warm and welcoming. We would definitely recommend the cottage as a great base to explore and enjoy Cornwall!”

“We had a lovely stay, and nice of Sarah to catch us and say hello to check we had all we needed. The cottage was very clean and nicely decorated. Very handy to have an enclosed garden for the dog (including a tennis ball!), blankets to cover the sofa and a stairgate. Was equipped with everything we needed. Lovely big fireplace to make use of now the weather's cooling. Really useful directions and photos that made it easy to find despite being up a bit of a small lane. Instructions before arrival also very clear and helpful. Beautiful views from the hill up behind the cottage, and so many lovely beaches nearby. Fairly easy distance to most of the sights we wanted to get to. Would definitely recommend it.”
