In the most dramatic location set above the Atlantic Ocean you will, to your absolute delight, discover Sunset Cottage, aptly named as this is one of the best spots in West Cornwall to watch the sunset over the sea.
The cottage itself offers a homely retreat to escape to at the end of the day with relaxed, comfy interiors and plentiful amenities. Neutral hues throughout make the cottage an invitingly calm and restful space throughout and the ultimate escapism from the pace of modern-day life.
This charming 1837 miners' cottage overlooks the sea. Immerse yourself in its rustic allure and breathtaking coastal views. The cottage invites you to unwind in a cozy living space adorned with mining heritage. Nearby, explore coastal paths tracing rugged cliffs, hidden coves, and remnants of Cornwall's mining past. LOCATION
Sunset Cottage is wonderfully located within the small village of Boscaswell in the heart of the far west of Cornwall. The area around here is a really magical place, located near to Pendeen it is often referred to as ‘Poldark Country’, it is in many ways untouched by modern-day life with its tin mining relics and unspoiled coastline. If you’re looking for a walker’s paradise to explore and to be off the beaten track then the comfort of this wonderful home is the perfect spot to do so. This part of West Cornwall showcases some of the most magnificent sunsets, and you can experience these from the comfort of aptly named Sunset Cottage.
You can walk straight to the outstanding Pendeen Lighthouse, historic Geevor mine, or peaceful Portheras Cove, a stunning locals beach so don't forget your walking boots. For surfers, hop in the car and you can be down on Sennen or Gwenver beaches, both a short drive away. You won’t be disappointed by the stretch of golden sands, dunes and crystal-clear water and popular surf break.
At the end of a day of beaching, head to one of the local pubs: The North Inn or The Queens Arms are both lovely for a sundowner in the garden or good pub grub. The wonder of Pendeen is that you’re never far from some of Cornwall’s best bits - grab an ice cream from the Moomaids Café in St Just square only 10 minutes away, or dine out in St Ives in less than 30 minutes or spend the day on the magical St Michaels Mount.

BEDROOM 1: Waking up facing the sea you have a gorgeous super king bed with incredible coastal views. There is also a small ensuite shower room with WC and basin.
BEDROOM 2: Has a super comfy super king bed, a chest of drawers and a wall mounted clothes rail to hang your favourite holiday outfits on.
BATHING
BATHROOM 1: In the large family bathroom sits a free standing bath, large enclosed walk-in shower to wash away the sand and salt from the beach, WC and basin. There is also a heated towel rail to keep your towels warm and fluffy. Please be aware towel rails can get hot and children should always be supervised when near them .

USEFUL TO KNOW...
PARKING: Private parking outside for one car. If bringing another car an additional space is available at a neighbouring property at a cost of £20.00 per week/short stay. Please enquire with the office if this is required.
WI-FI: (Up to 30 MB) broadband is via a mobile router so you can stay connected.
HEATING: Electric under floor heating in the kitchen and a wall mounted infa red heater in the sitting room. Wall mounted electric radiators upstairs plus several freestanding electric radiators are available if required in the colder months. Plus of course there is the cosy wood burner in the living area.
TV: There isn't an aerial, the tv is a smart one linked to the WiFi so you can watch channels via the relevant apps like BBC i player.
PETS: Far West Cornwall is doggie heaven! There’s plenty of beaches and coastal paths for exploring. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome at £35 each per week/short break. Please make sure they stay out of bedrooms and off the furniture and that you rub down muddy/sandy paws before they come in.
LINEN & TOWELS: You'll have bedding & towels but please bring your own beach towels.
UTILITY: There is a top loading washing machine located in the downstairs cloakroom.
ACCESSIBILITY: Sunset Cottage has a step leading up to the front door. It also has steps throughout the property on both the ground and first floor, along with wooden flooring. We recommend packing your favourite slippers or a pair of non-slip socks to wear whilst you are indoors. Upstairs the stairs are typical of Cornish cottages in being narrow and steep and the landing is also narrow and stepped with a step leading into both bedrooms , this is very typical of Cornish cottages of this age. Sunset Cottage may not be suitable for those with limited mobility or very young children, so we do recommend calling us beforehand and we will gladly answer any questions. We also ask that children are always supervised when outside. This property is not wheelchair friendly and may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. If this applies, please contact our booking office to discuss the properties potential suitability prior to confirming.
CHANGEOVER & SHORT BREAKS: Changeover is usually on a Saturday in peak season. Short breaks are available for a minimum of three nights with flexible changeover days. Do check with us if your dates don't quite fit as we will always try to help.
