POET'S CORNER, TRUTHWALL
Set in a small courtyard of converted farm buildings with a private parking space right outside it has been beautifully finished offering lots of light and space for two but managing to feel cosy at the same time with a lovely little wood burner to curl up in front of. The French doors in the living room open out onto a super decked terrace and private garden which in turn looks over open farmland giving a great sense of privacy. The large bedroom has a Juliet balcony with views across countryside to the sea and St Just in the distance. There is a luxurious modern en suite shower room and with a comfy king size bed you’re sure to get a good night's rest after days out exploring this magical area.
LOCATION
Truthwall is a small hamlet set less than a mile from St Just off the stunning coastal road which leads to St Ives. A short walk away and you can be on the South West Coast path and in the other direction the wild moors of Carnyorth Common are just behind Poet's Corner. If feeling energetic try exploring the stunning Tinner’s Way running along the coast from Cape Cornwall all the way to St Ives. It’s an ancient route from the Bronze Age and where the tin and copper ore were transported along the way from St Just to Hayle. After a day’s activities enjoy a drink and let someone else do the cooking. Less than five minutes’ walk away is a great locals pub, The Queens Arms.
St Just, less than a mile away is your nearest town which is in walking distance or a few minutes’ drive away. It’s is a friendly, quirky place that feels like stepping back in time with a good selection of local shops, a deli, a butcher, four pubs and a small supermarket for your everyday needs.
The far west is on the edge, things are different here. We're surrounded on three sides by the sea, and it has a strong influence on our lives. For beaches we are spoilt and Sennen Cove with its glorious surfing beach is only ten minutes away as is Portheras, a hidden, and stunning locals cove past Pendeen travelling east.
Travelling around the far west, the impossibly quaint village of Mousehole and working harbour of Newlyn are 15 minutes’ drive away. Marazion with the iconic St Michaels Mount, St Ives, Penzance and Porthcurno with the famous Minack theatre built into the cliffs are all well worth visiting and also an easy drive away.
LIVING
The large main living area has French doors out into the garden and steps down to the separate kitchen. There’s a large comfy two-seater sofa and armchair, a dining table with four chairs and a flat screen TV. The wood burner heats up a treat and in season we will leave you enough logs to get you going for a night or two.

Bronwen – November 2024
“Communication before we arrived was excellent. Check in was at 4pm but we received a call at 12.30pm to say it was ready for us :) Lovely, cosy cottage had everything we needed for a week away with a dog. The wood burner made it even nicer in the dark nights. Nice pub with good food 5 minutes’ walk up the road. Would definitely come back :)”
Joanne – October 2024
“This was our 2nd stay and we have no hesitation in recommending it! It is in a super location for walkers- on foot from the door onto beautiful sections of SWCP in both directions. Dog friendly pub with great food 5 mins walk away. EV charger at the property. A very comfortable, well equipped and relaxing place to stay. Thank you!”
Petra – September 2024
“Beautiful cottage in a calm rural neighbourhood, good starting point for coastal walks, not too far away from St. Just. We particularly enjoyed the separate deck behind the house where we had breakfast in the morning sun. The EV charger was a welcome extra for us.”
Dirk – August 2024
“Gorgeously furnished with a lovely garden in a quiet sleepy village near St. Just and yet pretty well connected with the bus almost right outside the doorstep.”
